About Us

A community-led movement offering free social and emotional learning.

Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement™ is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to create safer and more loving communities through groundbreaking next generation social and emotional learning (SEL) programs that are free of cost and suited for all stages of life.

We offer programs tailored for any age from toddlers through adulthood. At the core of it all is a simple formula (COURAGE + GRATITUDE + FORGIVENESS + COMPASSION-IN-ACTION = Choosing Love) that anyone can learn and practice to improve the world around them.

Two million people across more than 100 countries have already decided to choose love.

Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement™ is made possible by a global network of team members and advisors.

The origin of Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement™ is a powerful story about tragedy to transformation.

Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement™ began as a no cost program for schools but has organically expanded into programs for home, for work, and for community. We’re seeing sports teams use Choose Love programs to teach leadership. We’re seeing prisons use it for restoration. Even military families are using it to ease anxiety and strengthen relationships.

Since 2013, we have been on a mission to create safer schools and a safer world by teaching people how to use nurturing, healing love in any circumstance. Practicing social and emotional learning skills improves culture and cultivates an environment that is welcoming, supportive, compassionate, and safe.

Core Values

“Nurturing, Healing Love,” are the foundational values for the movement. Their individual meaning form a profound and powerful formula for choosing love:

  1. Nurturing means loving kindness and gratitude.
  2. Healing means forgiveness.
  3. Love is compassion in action.

Growing Awareness

Since the beginning, Choose Love Movement’s founder, Scarlett Lewis, has spoken to diverse audiences across the U.S. and the world urging everyone to become part of the solution to the issues the world is facing. She has shared principles behind the movement with professionals at events like SXSW EDU, Character.org’s National Forum on Character, ASCD Empower, and Safe and Sound Schools. And she has shared our story and impact with the Today Show, NPR, the New York Times, Fox News, BBC, and many more.
