Newtown, CT (March 21, 2025) – A Choose Love Movement™, a non-profit providing no cost, life skills programs for schools, homes and communities, announced today Westover Magnet School in Stamford as its first certified school in Connecticut, and seventh nationwide.
Westover Magnet School has been teaching the Choose Love For Schools™ program since 2022. The Choose Love For Schools™ is a no-cost, next-generation, essential life skills program for Pre-K through grade 12 which includes growth-mindset, neuroscience, mindfulness, positive psychology, post-traumatic growth, emotional intelligence, and more.
Becoming a Choose Love Certified School shows a commitment to the safety, health and wellbeing of the students and staff, and provides a framework of tried and true best practices that foster a safe and compassionate environment.
Scientific research spanning more than three decades indicates that children who learn and practice essential life skills are more likely to become successful and healthy adults. These individuals tend to possess a deeper sense of self, a strong commitment to community, and learned compassion for others, contributing to lower rates of bullying, violent crime and incarceration, substance abuse, and mental illness.
Principal Lisa Saba-Price, and Assistant Principals Keriann Maxelix and Kathleen Quaglino have cultivated a culture of caring, connection, and compassion, ensuring that Choose Love is not just a program but a way of life.
“I’m thrilled that Westover is part of our Choose Love family. Principal Lisa Saba-Price, and Assistant Principals Keriann Maxelix and Kathleen Quaglino have cultivated a culture of caring, connection, and compassion, ensuring that Choose Love is not just a program but a way of life,” said Scarlett Lewis, Chief Movement Officer, Choose Love Movement.
