30 Days of Gratitude Challenge #5 – Grateful Meditation
Gratitude meditation is a type of meditation that focuses on expressing gratitude for the things in your life.
By doing a grateful meditation and looking inward to find things you like about yourself, you can boost your self-esteem and have a happy, healthy, grateful heart. It can be a quick 10 second meditation or longer if you have the time.
A simple way to meditate is just to reflect on all the people and things you are grateful for? Studies show positive effects on the brain and mood with just minutes of a gratitude meditation. See the article from Harvard University.
“Buddhist monks begin each day with a chant of gratitude for the blessings of their life. Native American elders begin each ceremony with grateful prayers to mother earth and father sky, to the four directions, to the animal, plant, and mineral brothers and sisters who share our earth and support our life. In Tibet, the monks and nuns even offer prayers of gratitude for the suffering they have been given,” Jack Kornfield.
There is so much to feel grateful for in this moment. Gratitude fills our hearts and minds, uplifting our spirit and practicing gratitude for even a short amount of time each day can lead to higher levels of well-being.
