Emily Jenkins…
Was born and raised in Ellicott City, Maryland, a suburb of Baltimore. Throughout high school, Emily’s extracurricular passions included special education assistance and the environmental club. She went on to study nursing at Towson University and completed the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital.
Emily then moved to Hawaii for 6 months where she completed her 200-Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training. Since returning to Maryland, she’s continued work with The John P. Mayhugh foundation building better pathways to recovery- from wounds to wellness- for veterans, their family, and community members affected by mental health and brain health issues.
Emily now works in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD and recently became involved with the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement in August 2020.
