In Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr…

Jan 18, 2021 | General

On this special day, we honor the birth, life, legacy and lifelong dream of Dr. King. An American clergyman and influential civil rights leader, Dr. King gave his famous “I Have a Dream Speech” in Washington on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in August 1963. The next year, at age 35, he was the youngest man to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.  Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is the only national holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities, according to the corporation for National & Community Service.

Let’s practice #CompassionInAction in Dr. King’s honor, today and everyday! One of the most important ways you can do this right now is by taking the time to inform yourself about the plight facing many people who are discriminated against. Take that knowledge and help someone who is hurt or broken.

As Z, the son of a former Choose Love team member, shows in a recent class project he did, his dream is to #HaveALotOfFun and help people. We should all take that dream and turn it into a reality!
