Choosing love is important in all aspects of our lives—at school, at home, at work, in the community, and in the wider world. When we choose love, we spread it to others and make the world a kinder place. The benefits are wide-reaching and reach us all. And although acts of kindness can often transcend language barriers, linguistic obstacles can prevent us from spreading love efficiently to speakers of other languages.
With more than 67 million Americans speaking a language other than English at home, we truly live in a multilingual society. For a healthy society, it’s important that we can all choose love, and we in the Choose Love Movement want to impart our knowledge and strategies to as many others as possible. NYCTutoring.com also believes in our mission and has generously been offering pro bono translation services to help us spread love across language barriers.
NYCTutoring.com is a NYC-based tutoring agency that instructs students of all ages and skill levels in everything from math and science to music and foreign languages. Placing value on student convenience, NYCTutoring.com sends its teachers to the location of the student’s choice—anywhere within the New York City metro area, including parts of Westchester County, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
NYCTutoring.com’s heavy involvement in education, particularly with children, has given its co-founder, Luke Palder, insight into the importance of compassion in early life. “When I heard the story of Scarlett and Jesse Lewis, I was deeply touched,” Palder explains. “Scarlett’s tireless efforts to spread love in schools and the community are a remarkable way to honor her heroic son, and it’s incredible to see the impacts that choosing love has been having on kids and families. I knew I wanted to be a part of this movement and offer my organization’s pro bono translation services to help more people choose love.”
Palder’s team has primarily been providing translations into Spanish, the most common non-English language in the United States, but they have also helped translate materials into Chinese, Arabic, Russian, French, and more. Thanks to their translation work, the Choose Love Movement has been able to spread love in several languages to reach even more people. Ultimately, the language we use to communicate with each other varies, but the language of love is the same around the world.
