The Choose Love Movement is committed to providing actionable steps to improving mental health and well-being. On Mental Health Action Day, May 19th, join take action for yourself or offer help to someone else in need. Start by taking the Pledge to Choose Love, and learn about our Choose Love Formula which teaches you how to love your authentic self.

Choose Love will also be offering a free workshop on May 19th at 6 PM ET, “Pathways to Well-Being”, providing a variety of self-care tips from our Canadian Ambassadors: Paula Nowak Droog, Michelle Greenwell, Tanya Levy and Natascha Polomski.

Scarlett Lewis will kick off the event as we will explore:

  • Tips and tools for well-being from our Self-Care Essentials for Educators (SEE book),
  • Compassion and Breathing through meditation and journaling,
  • Sounds and Emotions, Check-ins and Awareness of Physical stress,
  • Engaging the auditory system and Centering systems in the body,
  • and lastly, the relationship between the feet and eyes for optimum learning and moving.

Study after study shows that one of the hardest things to do is take the first action: whether it’s reaching out to a friend, researching peer support groups, sitting down on a therapist’s couch or calling a support line. Many people fall through the cracks in the space between awareness and action – particularly those who have been marginalized or underserved by existing institutions.

By driving attention to our free and easily-accessible resources including our programs for schools, home, athletics and communities, we can reinforce that everyone has mental health, and it is time we all take care of our emotional well-being in the same way we tend to our physical health, before we reach a moment of crisis.

About Mental Health Action Day

This year’s Mental Health Action Day theme, planned in partnership with TaskForce, is Connection as people of all ages continue to seek out ways to cope with loneliness stemming from the pandemic and turn to peer counseling to support their emotional wellbeing when struggling with isolation. We encourage people to take their first steps towards mental health action — whether for themselves, for their loved ones or to advocate for systemic changes through a wide range of  tools.

Mental Health Action Day is an open-source movement of brands, organizations and cultural leaders to drive culture from mental health awareness to mental health action. The second Mental Health Action Day will take place on May 19, 2022 with a mission to encourage and empower people to take their first steps towards mental health action — whether for themselves, for their loved ones or to advocate for systemic changes, because mental health is health.
